Judson W. Foust was the sixth President of Cent ra l Mich i gan
Univers i ty, Serving in the office from 1959 to 1968, at wh ich
time he retired to the status of President Emer i t us. He di ed
September 7 , 1979, at the age of seven t y-seven. A gradua te of
Albion Col lege , he held the M,A, .:and Ph . D. degrees in Ma t hem.:
atlcs from the University of Mich igan. Dr. Fous t joined t he
faculty of Central State Teachers Col lege in 19Z9 as an
Instructor in Mathematics, thus conmencing an assoc ia t ion wi th
the College and University which would ex tend over half a

The Lillian H. Winsor Memorial Scholars hip Fund was
es tabl Ished in 1977, by a fri end of Central Mi chi gan
Univer s ity to provide two $500 fi nanc ia l ass i s tance
awards each semester to CMU s tudent s with bus iness
maj or s, accounting preferred. The recipients must be
gainfull y empl oyed during the academic year. The
s cholarshi ps may be renewable provided the students
maintain a sa ti s factory ac;tdemlc average and continue
to be gainfully employed.

and s ign the tentative agree~nt with the Faculty Association
upon ratifIcation by the Faculty Assoc iation. The
president Is authorized to increase base sa la ries; supp lemen
t s to sa laries; University contribution toward the COS I
of hospital. surgica l. and dental insurance; extension of
the time periods covered by the agreement: and associated

It was moved by Dr. Lloyd Cofer. seconded by HI's. Katharine Harstad,
.)nd carried, that the following resolution be adopted.
BE IT RESOLVED, That under authorization of tne Board of
Trustees the University administration. having held
negotiations with the Faculty Association, is authoril:ed
to consider requests of other emp loyee groups, and to
make recommendations to the Board of Trustees concerning
such requests at the next meeting of the Board.
The next Board of Trustees meeting will be !Jednesday. November 18,1979.
