Riecker, and carried , that the Policy on the Process of In stituting
Change in Reappointment. Promotion and Tenure Policies (pe rsonnel
policies procedures) as app roved by the Academic Senate on
April 22,1980, be adopted.
SABBATICAL LEAVE POL ICY: (Academic Affa irs Committee)
Mrs. Katharine Harstad. Cha irman of the Academic Affairs Coornittee,
stated that the sabbuical leave policy ... as brO<.lghl before the entire
board In closed session and would be tabled for the time being.
RESOLUTION COMMENDING 1980 BASEBALL TEAH :
It was IIIOved by Mrs. I'\argaret Rlecker, seconded by Hr. Leo Farhat, and
carried unanimously. that the following resolution be adopted.
WHEREAS, The 1980 Central Michigan University baseball team
staged a remarkable eleven th-hour performance to win t he
Mid-American Conference Championship on the final day of
conference play; and
WHEREAS, The Chippewas won 10 of their final 11 conference
games and 16 of their last 17 regular season g~mes to com­plete
their pre-playoff schedule with an O<.Itstanding ~0-12-1
record; and

squad of lusty hitting, c lutch pitching, f lawless fielding,

compe te this week in the NCAA regional playoffs at Ann Arbor;

WHEREAS , Sill members of the team have been named to first or
second team honors on the Al l ~id·American CO<'Iference Team: and
WHE REAS , Coach Dave Keilitz and his as s istant s, Dean Kreiner
and Jon Pavl lsko, have performed their leadership du t ies with
sld11 ",Id dedicatiO<'l, leading the /'Ild·American Conference to
name Coach Kellitz, Coach of the Year for the second time in
four years, an honor he rich ly deserves;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED , That the Board of Trustees of
