deve loper of the Elementary Education program in

WHEREAS, She served as the director of the Basic Course In
Speech Communication from 1961 to 1970. and was an early
pioneer in the use of publ Ie broadcast for the presentation

WHEREAS, She served as the first woman chairperson of the
Academ ic Senate and as assistant chairperson of her depart·
ment from 1968 to 1976, and

Hidwest, having served as President of the Hichigan Speech
Association. and on numerous st ate and regional committees;
