Establishment of the J. Edward Johnson Scholarship continued
by friends In honor of J. Edward Johnson , former c~issloner
and Hayor of the City of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, as well as
an energetic IndIvIdual interested In the well-being of
Central Hlchlgan university. The fund was establ ished when
he moved from Ht . Pleasant to Denver, Colorado. The endow~
nt earnings shall be awarded by the Dean of the School of
Bus iness Administration. The recipient will be a CMU student
possess ing a high scho lastic aver~ge In need of financial
assis tance to continue higher education. The award shal I not
exceed $1,000 per academic year .

Amentments to Traffic Ordinance/Campus Kap continued
Traffic and Pedestrians at Central Michigan University,
ML Pleasant, Michigan":
1. Section 6.1) 1 shall read as follows:

A handIcapped person may ~rk a motor vehIcle in a parking
area des ignated for use by a handicapped person by (a)
securing a University handicapped parking permit f~ the
Department of Publ ic Safety; or (b) securing a State of
Michigan certificate of Identificat ion or special automobile
registration plates issued for the hand icapped
under the MIchigan Motor Vehicle Code.
8.1310 Any person who parks a motor vehicle in a marked
handicapped parking space in any University lot
without displaying a University handicapped parking
permit or displaying a State of Michigan certificate
of Identification or special automobi le reg istrat ion
plates issued for the handicapped under the Mich igan
Hator Vehicle Code shall be subject to a $25.00
and also to Tow-away , as well as other enforcement
provisions of this Ordinance.
Section 8.26 of said Ordinance as originally passed and
amended is retained and sha l l continue to apply to vIo lations
occurr ing prior to 12:01 o'clock a.m. on the date
this amendment becomes effective, except to the exten t
altered by traffic control orders issued unde r this
Ordinance. Effective 12:01 a.m. on the date this
amendment becomes effective, said Section 8.26 shall
read and be effective as to vio lat ions occur r ing on or
after 12:01 o'clock a.m. on sa id date as follows:
8.26 Attached hereto and made a part hereof Is a Map
titled "Ca~us Map Central Michigan University ,
Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, 1982 -83" setting forth

MAGe REPORT:
Mrs. Katharine Hafstad, Chairman of HAGS, stated that space for a
central office will be leased In the State Bar Sui Idlng In Lansing.
A budget, dues, and assessments have been established for 1982-83.
HAGe Is currently discussing potential areas of cooperation among
public and private schools with representatIves of AGB and tne
trustees of independent schools.
APPROVAL OF HAGe 1982-83 ASSESSMENT:
It was moved by Hr. Alfred Fortino , seconded by Mr. Raymond LaBounty ,
and urrled, that the MAGS 1982-83 assessment of 52,100 be approved.
