It was moved by Mr . Raymond LaBounty, seconded by
Ms . Rachae1 Moreno" and carried, that the following
resolution be adopted .
BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board ot Trustees adopts
the proposed Charter and Sylaws. as recommended
by the Assessment and Development Committee and
as modified by the Board on January 26 , 1984 .
The Charter and Bylaws shall bp forwarded to
legal coun~e 1 for l~gal r eview and returned
with appropriate comments to the Board through
the Assessment and Development Committee for
flnal r atification at the March 1984 meeting of
the Boar d . Sections of the Committeer

Trul':Lees , regarding the Kitchel Dunp Preserve .
It was moved by Mrs . Tomboulian, seconded by
"rs . loIargaret Riecker, and carried, that the followlng
resolution he adopted .
BE IT RESOLVED, That it is the intent of the r.entral
Michiglln University Board ot Trustees to purchasp
from The Nature Conservancy that portion of their
North Shore Dune Preserve (kno_n as thp. Kitchel
Dune Preserve) in Grand Haven, Michigan, lying
north of the road passing trom Berwyck St reet to
the Grand Haven musical tountain, a parcel of
approximatply 35 acreI': . This purchase is
contingent upon receipt of funds ¥ro~ a grant to
the University from the Michigan Land Trust Pund,
suhject to the approval of thp State Legislature
and the appropriation o f such funds . The purchase
is to be the appraised value at thp identified
parcel . not to exceed 5300,000. The property will
hp maintained in its natural state, and is to he
used fo r pducRtionaJ and scient.ific purpo!;es .
It is understood by the Board ot Trustees that the
above-descriherl purchase will be matchpd by The
Nature Conservancy with a gift of land, that
approximately l6-acre portion of the Kitchel Dune

continue negotiations with all parties involved and to have

BE IT RESOLVED, That it is the intent of the r.entral Michiglln University Board ot Trustees to purchasp from The Nature Conservancy that portion of their North Shore Dune Preserve (kno_n as thp. Kitchel Dune Preserve) in Grand Haven, Michigan, lying north of the road passing trom Berwyck St reet to the Grand Haven musical tountain, a parcel of approximatply 35 acreI': . This purchase is contingent upon receipt of funds ¥ro~ a grant to the University from the Michigan Land Trust Pund, suhject to the approval of thp State Legislature and the appropriation o f such funds . The purchase is to be the appraised value at thp identified parcel . not to exceed 5300,000.
