Board move into closed session to discuss strategy connected with the negotiation

years as a distinguished teacher, scholar, and administrlltor; and
WHEREAS, He elicited the best from his students by holding them to
high academic standards and by caring about them as individuals; and

publications include a book, Religion and Society In Tnterllclion,
which is currently the mast influential text in that field; and
WHEREAS, He, as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, led the
