PETOSKEY
PETOSKEY, named for the far famed Indian chief Petosegea, has been known for
twenty-five years as the gem of Northern Michigan re ort. Its magnificent scenery
and splendid air have become known far and wide.
Besides becom i ng the commercial and transportation center of the resort region, it has
developed, because of its location, into a thri\'ing all-year-round city of 6,000 inhabitants.
Petoskey isupplied with good churches of all denominations, a.nd public schools
that ar!' a credit to any city of its size. It also upports a good business college where
all the commercial, shorthand and typewriting branches are tanght.
Educational facilitie. and manufacturing enterprises have made Petoskey more than
11 mere summer resort town. From herp swift suburban service plies every twenty
minutes to resorts north, east, south and west, while swift steamers make the resorts
around the bay at intervals of forty to sixty minutes.
The farming country abollt Petoskey is the best in Northern Michigan. The farmers
always find a ready market at home, and good prices for everything they can raise.
The great num bel' of hotels and boarding houses to be supplied at all the resorts, will
always keep up the d mand. There is no better place for il1\'estment in farmino- lands
than about Petoskey. For prices address the real estate firms advertised in this book.
BAY VIEW
O RIG fNALLY selected as a home of the Michigan Camp Ground Association,
Bay Yiew has grown into a summer city of ten thousand inhabitants, whose
assembly courses and summer school rank second to no institutions of the kind
in the United State.
The season properly opens with a camp meeting of spiritual power, and this is followed
by the opening of the summer school and of the as embly lecture courses, in
which appear the most famous men of the country in their entertaining and instructive
specialties.
WE-QUE-TON-SING
FIRST from the boat landing and the railway station stands We-Que-Tonsing
Hotel, one of the best equipped and most accommodating public houses in
Northern Michigan resort region, under the management of Mrs. Bruebecker.
Beyond this, under the hluff, is the new Casino for indoor games and social entertainment,
a building .")0 x] 10 feet (two floors). In ~ig-ht of the Bay and Lake Michigan
are the golf links and baseball g-rounds
Harbol' Point and Hal'bor Spring at the termination of the U. R. &; I. Railway
and also connected by the ferry boat line, which runs every half hour.

Beautiful INLAND ROUTE
Where summer sunshine sifts through interlacing boughs, And music-throated birds entrance the listening ear
A TRIP via this famous route is surely a voyage of enchantment - a mid- ummer day's dream in
the quiet home of the water lily and the happy hunting ground of the noble red man. .
The Inland Route is not only Northern Michigan's great st attraction, !.Jut it is the most pICturesque

No one who visit.q Northern ~fichigan hould miss a day on the Beautiful Inland Route, which includes
numerous silver lakes and winding rIvers, aJivll with gamy fish. The jla, sing of numerous little crafts
under sail and steam, the swiftly moving panorama or limpid waters and verdant shores, form a most
effective combination of scenic grandeur.
You can leave Petoskey and Bay View el'ery morning, board the magnificent new double-deck
